Motivation Romania
Wheels of Change
Motivation Romania Foundation is a non-governmental, non-profit, Romanian organization created in 1995 to provide support to children and adults with disabilities. The successes achieved recommended Motivation Romania Foundation to become the partner of Shaw Trust UK in 2008.
We are members of ANCOR Federation and Workability Europe and since 2004 we are affiliated to the International Tennis Federation, through our wheelchair tennis program.
Our services cover a large range of needs of children and adults with disabilities, from adaptive equipment for different types of mobility disabilities to medical rehabilitation and independent life skills training with a peer group trainer (wheelchair user). Our programs focus on the social, educational and professional integration of people with disabilities through consultation for building accessibility, employment mediation, day care, or leisure activities - adapted sport, cultural events.
We became involved in child deinstitutionalization by developing a foster care network and three family-type homes for 25 children with severe disabilities from the public residential centre in Tancabesti. We provide General Directions for Social Assistance and Child Protection through the country advice and consultation for improving the quality of services for children and adults with disabilities.
Since 1995 Motivation Romania brought back the hope for a fulfilling life and the freedom of movement to over 3,000 children and adults with disabilities. We hope that you will be by our side in continuing to move along the Wheels of Change, and we invite you to discover Motivation Romania through this site or by visiting us at our offices throughout the country. We count on your support!
