Wheelchairs
Each wheelchair must be prescribed so that it addresses the complex physical and functional needs of the individual user. Moreover, the wheelchair must be accompanied by adequate training of the adult user or the child and his/her parent to ensure optimal use of the wheelchair and to maximize the user’s independence. Lack of special adaptations and professional assessment, prescription and training may determine side effects for the users, including postural deformations and severe medical complications.
We are the only domestic provider of specially adapted mobility equipments for children with motor disabilities, including for children with cerebral palsy.

Motivation has signed contracts with all the County Health Insurance Agencies for the acquisition of wheelchairs at no cost by individuals who have medical insurance. The wheelchair cost is fully covered by the Insurance Agency.

The Health Insurance Agency of your county of residence reimburses the costs of a wheelchair once every 5 years, for each eligible disabled person. If in the past 5 years you have not received a wheelchair paid by the Health Insurance Agency you are entitled to receive a new wheelchair for free. The file that you should submit to County Health Insurance Agency to receive your free wheelchair should include the following:
* Recommendation from a specialized doctor (2 originals);
* Copy of the disability certificate;
* Latest pension receipt;
* Birth certificate or ID (CI);
* ID of your personal assistant.
After you submit these documents to the Health Insurance Agency, you should receive the approval within 30 days. The approval is valid for 30 days ONLY; within these 30 days you should order your new wheelchair. Please go to the Contact page to find information about our regional teams.
