Education without Barriers - The Second Edition of Annual Gala for People with Disabilities

Motivation Romania Foundation and ActiveWatch-Media Monitoring Agency, with the support of Vodafone Romania Foundation, organized the"Education without Barriers" - The Second Edition of Annual Gala for People with Disabilities on November 29, in Bucharest.


This event was held under the high patronage of the European Commission in Romania and was coproduced by No 1 Romania National Television Channel, who will broadcast it on December 3rd, the International Day of People with Disabilities.


The Gala for People with Disabilities - "Education without Barriers" aimed to promote the understanding of issues related to disability and to broaden social support for the right to dignity of people with disabilities in Romania. Thus, the event promotes people with disabilities who, through their work, have overcome their condition and have had remarkable achievements.

The Gala was an unique event showcasing the social gains of social integrating of people with disabilities. This year edition was dedicated to their school inclusion, a premise for mainstream labor market integration. Thus, the Gala aimed to bring public recognition to individuals, organizations and institutions that support people with disabilities, in five areas: personal achievement in education, employment, school inclusion, accessibility and public policy support.

For each of the five categories described above and titled: “Wholesome People”, “Employers of Ability", “Open Doors”, “The School of all Abilities”, and "Promoters of Ability” we organizied a evaluation process. This evaluation was made by a jury comprised of personalities representing non-governmental organizations, embassies, business people active in the disability field and journalists, or media organizations.
